Background of the Industrialists’ Conference:
The GCC Industrialists’ Conference, which is alternately hosted by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) every two years, is one of the GOIC’s most important milestones since its inception in 1976. The conference, which started in 1985, in Doha, has immensely contributed to developing industry in the GCC countries at both public and private sector levels. Each conference addresses a particular case of the issues that affect the development of industry in the region through working papers submitted by international experts and specialists. The recommendations of previous conferences have contributed to developing industrial plans for the GCC countries, in particular with regard to the strategy of industrial development. The conference receives much attention from decision-makers and public officials in addition to a wide segment of businessmen and industrialists. An industrial exhibition will be held on the sidelines of the conference to showcase and introduce Gulf industries and achievements.
